Pollination Collaborative Artwork by Lauren Morris and Victoria Mitchell

In the context of artwork, pollination refers to the process of exchanging ideas, techniques, and inspirations among artists, resulting in the growth and transformation of creative expression. Our joint art collaboration is like a vibrant act of creative pollination, where each artist brings unique ideas, perspectives, and skills, much like individual flowers offering their nectar to the hive of collective imagination. Together, we exchange and combine these elements, allowing inspiration to flow freely and cross-pollinate across disciplines and styles. This mutual exchange enriches our work, sparking innovation and producing creations that none of us could achieve alone. The collaboration not only showcases each artists’ individual voice but also weaves a shared narrative to connect to nature and tell their stories.

About the Artists

Lauren Morris
Lauren Morris is a Fine Artist born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing 4 years of Graphic Design she worked and traveled to America. It was there she had the opportunity to attend classes at the Corcoran School of Art in Arlington, Virginia and was introduced to the world of Fine Art. She developed a signature style characterized by her brushstrokes and bold color palette.

Her compositions often feature a harmonious balance between realism and abstraction, inviting viewers to explore the delicate nuances and emotions hidden within each piece. Drawing inspiration from the beauty and intricacies of nature, Lauren creates pieces that evoke a sense of wonder and introspection. Painting predominantly with Acrylic on Canvas she creates a symphony of light, shadow and depth. She hopes to inspire thought and to evoke the viewers’ emotions through visual imagery. Victoria Mitchell
Victoria Mitchell intricately conveys a unique visual language through surreal and representational paintings and illustrations. Her enigmatic and joyful abstractions engage viewers with introspective depths, and environmental sensitivities. She is in?luenced by extensive studies of body structure and kinetics, and is strongly inspired by connections with our natural surroundings. Since 2017 Victoria has been working from a Vancouver based studio, and has very much enjoyed volunteer work with BC arts communities, mentoring, curating exhibitions, and sharing her work in galleries and exhibitions in BC and internationally.

Through paintings and illustrations, I’m drawn to the exploration of interconnectedness between human form, and other natural entities. There is a profound fascination within me for portraying intangible networks and energies that interweave and interconnect "everything with everything” within us and surrounding us. In essence, my expressions serve as a conduit, bridging the gaps between humanity, nature, and the environment. It is a visual language through which I can express concerns and appreciation for the delicate balance that exists between ourselves and the world we inhabit.
